A Thousand Thanks For Helping The NADJ Raise Over A Thousand Pounds For Charity
WorldPay Zinc Chip & Pin discount through the NADJ includes a donation to the Salvation Army's Christmas Appeal
We'd just like to thank all of our members who have taken up a great offer from WorldPay Zinc with their pay as you go 'Chip & Pin' machine for taking credit and debit card transactions.  In December 2013 we launched a scheme whereby each new WorldPay Zinc applicant got a discount on the card reader and the National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ) received an e-voucher for Amazon.

We didn't expect the response we've received over the past eleven months and we are extremely happy to announce that thanks to all the people taking up our WordlPay Zinc discount, we have smashed through the £1,000 barrier!  That's a fantastic achievement and we must say a special note of thanks to everyone who has taken up the offer through our unique referral link as we will shortly arrange to hand the donation over to representatives of our chosen charity.

As a not for profit Association, we felt that it would be a great idea to give the vouchers to charity and as we were on the run up to Christmas, we felt that perhaps they should be donated to a charity that had a campaign to give a needy child a gift at Christmas.  So, we searched for an appropriate good cause to give the vouchers to and the NADJ Committee opted to help The Salvation Army and their annual Christmas Appeal.

New Members From The British DJ Organisation (BDJO)
New Members From The British DJ Organisation
For over a year the Association has liaised with the volunteers behind the British DJ Organisation (BDJO).  We were informed that the BDJO were winding down their operation and that they had recommended to their members that they join the NADJ.  Their members were given the option to join our Association and many of them did just that.  So, over the past few months we have processed all of the new members from the BDJO and we've answered many of their questions.  We've given them time to settle in and we are proud to have them as members of the National Association of Disc Jockeys.
Alan Marshall, Chairman of the NADJ said: "The British DJ Organisation, who after a long existence going back to the 1960s, were looking to close their doors.  After looking around for somewhere for their members to continue being part of a larger body they decided the best place would be as members of NADJ.  Over the space of a few weeks, that involved a lot of running around by the NADJ Committee, predominantly by our Membership Officer, John Forbes, and our Treasurer, Brian Jones, who carried out a massive amount of checking and processing new of members."
Delays Opening NADJ Profile Pages
Delays Opening NADJ Profile Pages
Update 17/12/2014 @ 17.30: We are monitoring the situation regarding the third party plugin and their maintenance work appears to have had a positive effect. The loading of the profile pages on the www.nadj.org.uk website appear to be running normally.

We're currently experiencing delays in the opening of profile pages on the National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ) website.  This is not because of an overloaded sever, fault with our website or any other technical issue with our server.  We've checked everything on our side, from the status of our server through to any database issues and the server is good to go.
The delays are caused by a third party plugin/feature that is currently down for maintenance.  We hope to see that feature back up and running very soon and will update you when we know more.
Please note that after a period of trying to use the plugin, the NADJ website will ignore it and then load the rest of the page.
We will update this article and let you know when the maintenance work is complete.  Thank you for your patience.

Thank you all for your support, continued attendance at national and branch meetings and also for your help and advice during my first year of office.
Finally a massive thank you to the branch and national representatives for their dedication to providing great meetings, content and for the day to day running of the organisation.

Christmas & New Year Arrangements
Christmas & New Year Arrangements
The team of volunteers who run the National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ) will be taking a couple of well earned short breaks from their duties over the festive period.  Not only are we all working DJs who, like you, find this time of year to be one of the busiest periods for our DJ businesses, but we would also like to treasure some time off.

Therefore, it is only fair that we have a break from our duties for the Association and our members.  Everyone deserves quality time off with their families over the Christmas and New Year period and that's why we are giving advanced notice of our holidays.

On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day 2014 the team of volunteers at the NADJ will put down their tools and spend that time with our families and to recover from our workload in December.  New Year's Eve and New Year's Day will be our second phase of time off.  We hope that you will respect that we offer the highest level of service we can to our members throughout the year and that it is necessary for these short holidays.
